Their ages range from 21 to 50's. There is good staff to client ratio in all areas.
Montagu supports staff in their training and also provides in house training sessions on relevant topics to assist staff in supporting the residents.
Each house has a trained Occupational Health & Safety representative, who regularly attends meetings and keeps staff up to date with current issues and ensures that the workplace is safe for all.
Each house is represented by a staff member on the combined Policy and Planning working party involving the Strategic Plan (a four year plan for the development of the organisation) and the Policy and Procedures (where policies are constantly reviewed and kept current and relevant).
Staff participate in their own performance review and development every 18 months, to ensure continual professional development of staff and help keep them on track with goals.
The Monty Awards for staff excellence are held annually and the main award entitled The Gold Monty is voted on by staff for staff. Other awards include, Key-worker of the Year, Professional Development and Most Available.
Planning Days are held bi-annually for every house, which incorporates key worker presentations, guest speakers and information sharing between staff. This is a compulsory day for staff to get together and discuss the goals of the house for the following 18 months to 2 years.
Good relationships are maintained between staff and management, with a general open door policy.
Regular fortnightly staff meetings are held, where all are encouraged to participate and learn meeting skills.
Staff carry Disability Support Worker identification cards.
Organisational Structure
