Residential Support:
Montagu has four shared houses, with the fourth house coming on board in mid 2005. Those associated with Montagu through the 2006 Strategic Plan were adamant that Montagu keep its personal touch and to do this the organisation needs to remain at a moderate size. Each of the current shared homes are managed and the residents are supported in very unique ways as each shared home has people with varying needs that differ from the others.
Each shared house has a full-time Co-ordinator who is responsible for the day-to-day management of the house including staff management and four Level 4 support workers who are responsible to be the key contact person between the resident and their family or support network (this role is called the Key-worker). Each shared house also has Level 3 support workers, either permanent part-time or casual. During the week, each resident attends the day option of their choice, whether that be, work, day support or study at school or college. Shared home accommodation within Montagu is long term.

Individual Support Program:
The Individual Support Program aims to assist people with disabilities to live in the least restrictive environment in the community, exercise greater independence and control over their lives and increase their participation in activities in the community. This is achieved through the provision of recurrent support. This support may include: support with activities of daily living in the home or community, the purchase or replacement of adaptive equipment and other non-specialised personal support and related tasks. People accessing the Individual Support Program are considered to be in need of this kind of support long term.
For more information relating to access to the Individual Support Program, please contact Disability Services on 6230 7600.
Short Term Support:
Disability Services defines Short Term Support as follows: Provide for short-term individual support services to clients in their own homes or in a range of community settings.

Supporting Individual Pathways:
Disability Services defines the Supporting Individual Pathways program as: Providing assistance to address particular pressures in the post school period for people with disabilities, including transition from school to work or further training.
For more information relating to access to the Post School Options Program, Please contact the Project Officer on 62307600.
Montagu can offer support in accessing each of the above programs through support to fill out forms, negotiate with Disability Services and costing any support needed.
When deciding which program would be of most benefit to a particular client or family member, individuals should discuss each option widely with Montagu management, Disability Services, Service Co-ordination and other appropriate professionals with these key factors in mind. Placement with a residential service will be full time and long term and would offer the highest support to the client and their family, where as gaining a individual support package will also be long term with minimal hours, therefore the client will need to have some independence or have other key support. Access to short-term support can only be achieved through Disability Services and is usually short term with very little chance of on going funding. This type of funding is usually applied to help support clients in crises who are already clients of Disability Services.
